I was so excited when Jenna and Kevin emailed me to inquire about their wedding date. They are getting married at a new venue in New Albany, Ohio called The Estate. I was so excited for them! New wedding venues are always a blast and the people behind The Estate are awesome – they own Brookshire and Watersedge – so you know that it is going to be an awesome venue. One of the most exciting things that worked out perfectly was Jenna and Kevin’s engagement session. When they emailed and told me that they lived in Florida, I was happy to tell them that we were, in fact, going to Florida in November and could easily meet up with them for their engagement session!! I seriously love it when our travel plans work out perfectly with some of our couples that live in other states. We emailed back and forth a bit to figure out the perfect date for the session – it would be the day that we left and I just hoped that it didn’t rain! Luckily, it did not rain at all which is awesome! Some of our other destination engagement sessions we haven’t been as lucky and had to dodge rain showers! Jenna and Kevin are so amazing and we were so happy to be able to spend time with them and meet them!
We all met up at an adorable park that was on the intercoastal waterway. I took Jenna and Kevin over to some palm trees – which will make any person swoon… but let’s face it – we just don’t have adorable palm trees in Ohio! They were so awesome and welcoming! Scott had Wyatt on a playground that was nearby so it worked out perfectly. Usually, Scott and Wyatt do not come to engagement sessions! Since we were in Florida for a family vacation, they traveled along to the session! The park we were at had a huge playground and Wyatt was in heaven while I was shooting. While we were around the palm trees and the fishing pier, I took probably my favorite ring picture of all time! Jenna and Kevin were actually changing at the time and I had her ring on a couple palm branches. I am seriously in love with those rings pictures and adore them.
After we were done at the intercoastal waterway, we headed over to one of the beach accesses parks in Melbourne Beach. We headed down one that was actually closed off to the beach because of the hurricane that recently came through, but I am so happy we hung out on it for a little bit. Jenna looked amazing in her dress and I loved the contrast of the wood bridge with her dress! We did head over to the other access walkway that got us down to the ocean. Yay! The Ocean! We shot by the ocean for a little bit and oh my.. the pictures.. they are to die for! Engagement sessions like Jenna and Kevin seriously make me consider why we do not live close to a beach. I love the beach so much and doing what I love… where I love…. is amazing!
Jenna and Kevin, we seriously can not wait for your wedding. It is going to be magical and we can’t wait to see you two again because I know it is going to feel like forever! Thank you so much for having me shoot your engagement session on the beach in Florida. You two seriously made that evening amazing! Wyatt had a blast running around like a crazy person before being stuffed in a car for several hours! We ended up finding some Chick-Fil-A for dinner! Wyatt was pretty excited about the chicken nuggets. I loved being able to have a little bit of sand in the car!
Thank you so much and can’t wait to see you for your wedding!!
